THE
FRIENDS OF WAKEFIELD JAZZ The creation of this new organisation is an important step in maintaining the reputation of Wakefield Jazz as one of Britain’s premier jazz venues and ensuring that the club continues to thrive. Having an active group of supporters, who are closely involved in the running of the club, will be a great help to the small team of volunteers who form the current steering group. Having an identifiable group of supporters will also help the club in its efforts to attract grants and other forms of sponsorship. We have also recently launched our Wakefield Jazz Subscription Scheme AGM - Click here for date and time of next meeting |

| The
“Friends” will:
•
Act as an advisory group One priority is for us all to work together to increase the number of people who come along on a Friday night. (Another ten people per night on average would make a big difference!) There will be opportunities for the “Friends” to meet together to receive reports on the club’s progress (including an annual report on finances) and to provide feedback to the steering group. These meetings would also enable the “Friends” to set their own priorities and identify new projects and activities. It is recognised that not everyone will be able or want to attend meetings and those who prefer to contribute in other ways will be encouraged to do so. There will be regular newsletters to keep everyone up to date with what’s happening. It is not intended at this stage to have a membership fee. You
can become a “Friend” by completing a registration form. This
is available online from the friends application button (top right) or
you can collect one at the door the next time you come to a gig. Note: |
